To view the User Manual for your system, click on your keypad.
Please note: Instant mode removes the exit and
entry delays on your entry zones; if you open a door the sirens will sound
immediately and the monitoring station will receive a signal.
You have a delay (usually 30 seconds) to disarm the system from the
time you open the door, the keypad will sound a continuous tone for the
duration of the entry time delay.
Please Note: Disarming your system will clear all bypasses, you must bypass zones each time you arm the system.
Please Note: These instructions can also be found on the inside of the door on your keypad.
Testing your alarm system:
Please Note: we suggest testing your system once per month and additionally after severe weather, after having work done in your home, and after having changes made or work done on your phone lines.
- To test your sensors, activate the Chime Mode on your system. Open and securely close each window and door. The keypad will chime each time you open a window or door. (Note: motion detectors may not chime).
- To test your siren, press the 1 and 7 keys on the keypad together. This will cause the siren to ring, enter your code to silence the siren.
- To test your monitoring, first call the monitoring station to notify them you will be testing your system. Arm your system and disarm it with your Duress Code, this will send a silent signal to the monitoring station. Call the monitoring station to verify they received a Duress signal. Our main monitoring station phone number is 800-635-9754; customers monitored by our local monitoring station, please call 901-382-6900.
If any of these test procedures fail, please contact our office at 901-377-4991. Your system may require servicing.
To check Alarm Memory:
- Press the zero key. This will display your most recent alarm memory.
- Flashing zone light(s) indicate the cause of the alarm.
- Solid zone light(s) indicate that these zone(s) were bypassed when the alarm occurred.
Resetting your Fire Zone:
Please Note: If you have a false alarm on your Fire Zone, you should check for a solid LED light on each Smoke Detector in your home, indicating which Smoke Detector caused the false alarm. If the cause of the alarm is obvious, such as cooking smoke, you must wait until the cause has been removed before resetting the Fire Zone, otherwise another alarm will occur.
- Press and hold the # key for 3 seconds.
- Check the LED on the Smoke Detector again. If the Smoke Detector successfully resets, the LED light will start blinking again. If the LED light does not start blinking, then the Smoke Detector has shut down and a service call is required.
Power and Back-up Battery Status:
- Power Light on Solid - this indicates the alarm system is receiving electricity.
- Power Light is Off - the alarm system is not receiving electricity, but the back-up battery is not yet low. You should check your electrical breakers and ensure the alarm system transformer is plugged into the electrical outlet securely.
- Power Light is Blinking - this indicates your alarm system back-up battery is low. Check to make sure the alarm system has electricity, if not, restore electrical power to the alarm system and your back-up battery may be able to recharge. If the alarm system has electricity and is still indicating a low battery, then you need to replace the back-up battery. Contact our office at 901-377-4991 to order a back-up battery.
Keypad Continually Beeping:
Your keypad will continually beep to make you aware of a power problem or if a trouble condition exists with your Fire Zone. Enter your code to stop the continual beeping, then check the lights on your keypad. The
Power Light indicates the power problem that exists. If you are unable to resolve the power problem or fire trouble condition, please contact our office at 901-377-4991.
Programming User Codes in the Ranger System
Your system can be operated by your Master Code and up to 5 other User Codes. User Codes can be assigned to employees, babysitters, workmen, or anyone that needs to arm and disarm your system. User Codes can be changed or deleted at any time without effecting your Master Code.
Each code in your system is assigned a sequential number. The Master Code is code number 1 and the User Codes are code numbers 2 - 6. When programming a User Code keep a record of which code number it is, as well as, the 4 digit code itself.
Code number 7 is your Duress Code. If your alarm system is monitored and this code is used to arm or disarm your alarm system, a silent signal will be sent to the monitoring station and the police will be dispatched immediately. This code is to be used in a durress or hold up situation. Typically this code is the same as the 4 digits of your address, but any 4 digits can be used.
Changing your Master Code:
Please Note: Changing your Master Code erases all User Codes and your Duress Code. You will have to reprogram these codes if you change your Master Code.
Your Master Code is always code number 1. Enter the following sequence of numbers:
*1#
Your current 4-digit Master Code
